Tasmania has a fantastic temperate climate suitable for growing a wide range of crops and raising a wide range of animals. Fine wool, mohair and alpaca products are all part of this amazing diversity.

Tasmania also boasts a fine array of craftspeople and produces high quality products. Spinning, weaving and knitted are popular modes of creating beautiful items from the high quality of material that is available.

Alpaca, cashmere, mohair and wool are the common materials used in Tasmanian textiles.  They are often complemented with natural dyes, although some lovely colours can be achieved with modern dyes.

You will find home grown teas, handspun yarns from Alpaca, wool and cashmere among other products in this section.
